Red Wine

Red wine is a world unto itself with as many serious collectors as there are people who simply enjoy drinking the noble drink. It is made from dark-coloured (black) grape varieties, like Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Merlot, Malbec and many more. As the juice of red grapes is mostly pale in colour, much of the red-wine process involves extracting the most colour and flavour from the grape skins. Wine from the new world is typically defined by the grape variety, while wine from the old world is defined by its region.
